This crazy year is finally coming to an end. Let's just say 2020 has been very enlightening, to say the least. I have definitely learned a lot this year.
Here are 3 lessons I've learned from 2020:
1. Everything In Life Happens For A Reason
Everything happens for a reason. Some experiences we go through in life are meant to teach us and help us grow. God has a reason for everything! Sometimes, we don't understand why certain situations occur, but in the end it all makes sense.
2. A persons true colors will always show within time
This year showed me who people truly are. What I've learned is that during the worst times of your life, you get to see who really cares about you. Sadly, I had to cut a lot people off due to their evil, narcissistic ways. Like Maya Angelou says, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." now that I know better, I can do better.
3. Prayer is The Best Medicine
I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to give up. Way too many to count. No matter what I went through, I never gave up. Whenever you feel like throwing in the towel, pray. I cannot stress this enough! Prayer is always the answer to everything. If something is not meant to be, then let it go. God will replace it with something better.
In today's world, people are always trying to outdo each other. Why does everything in life have to be a competition? What is the REAL problem?
I've noticed the whole "competition trend" in real life and on social media. Honestly, It's really pathetic how people are behaving. Women are competing with each other over the craziest things. Families are being torn apart, and friendships are being ruined everyday due to silly, competitive games. Whatever happened to sticking together and being there for one another? Whatever happened to girl power? With everything that's going on in the world right now, this is the last thing we should be thinking about. This really needs to stop.
Sadly, I have experienced this too. Ever since I was a child, girls would always try to compete with me, but I never understood why. I stayed to myself. I never thought I was better than anyone else. I was, and still is very humble. Even to this day, I still have people competing with me. My question is why? What is the point of trying to compete with others, when you can take some of that time to better yourself?
Me personally, I have never felt the need to compete. Why? Because I'm confident. I know I'm good at what I do. When you have confidence and feel secure within yourself, you will not feel the need to battle with others. You'll be so busy working on yourself, you won't even have time to worry about what someone else is doing. At the end of the day, the only person you should be competing with, is the person in the mirror.
During this time, what we should be focusing on is getting along with one another. We should start being there for each other more often. We gotta do better than this.
